The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formally communicated with the International Cricket Council (ICC), reiterating its position on relocating Bangladesh’s matches outside India and requesting that the matter be referred to the ICC’s independent Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC).

A BCB official confirmed the development to The Daily Star. A report by The Times of India also said the BCB had sent another letter to the ICC, seeking referral of its venue-relocation request to the DRC.

The ICC Dispute Resolution Committee is an independent arbitration body that handles disputes involving the ICC, its member boards, players and officials. It typically intervenes when internal mechanisms have been exhausted, as in the current impasse between the BCB and the ICC over Bangladesh’s request to move their T20 World Cup matches to Sri Lanka.

On Wednesday, the ICC rejected the BCB’s request and decided to keep the tournament schedule unchanged following a board meeting. The ICC also gave the BCB a one-day deadline to decide, after consultations with the government, whether the Bangladesh team would travel to India for the tournament.

Following the ICC’s decision, BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul said at a press briefing on Thursday that the board “will keep on fighting” to ensure Bangladesh’s participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to begin on February 7 and co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
