Former attorney general Md Asaduzzaman, who has taken oath as part of the new cabinet, has said his key priorities will be to restore the rule of law, uphold human rights, and ensure justice in the country.
“As for the challenges in carrying out my responsibilities, I believe the biggest challenge will be meeting the nation’s huge expectations. The people have very high hopes, and living up to those expectations is, in itself, a major challenge,” he told The Daily Star over the phone immediately after taking oath as a minister.
Advocate Md Asaduzzaman, a senior lawyer of the Supreme Court and BNP leader, was elected lawmaker from the Jhenaidah-1 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election held on February 12.
