The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction will be held on December 16 in Abu Dhabi, with the BCCI finalising a list of 350 players -- both domestic and overseas. Seven Bangladeshi players have made the shortlist, with only left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman having prior experience in the tournament. All seven Bangladeshis are bowlers.

According to a BCCI media release on Tuesday, a total of 1,390 players had registered for the mini auction for the 2026 season. Following scrutiny, 350 players were retained in the final list, which includes 240 Indian cricketers and 110 overseas players. A maximum of 77 players can be bought in this auction, with up to 31 slots available for foreign recruits.

Mustafizur, 30, has been placed in the highest base-price bracket of INR 2 crore, joining 40 players in that category. The left-arm seamer has featured in 60 IPL matches across five franchises, taking 65 wickets at an average of 28.44 and an economy rate of 8.13.

Five Bangladeshi players have been listed in the INR 75 lakh base-price category: leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam, and right-arm pacers Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

Left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan, 23, has been named in the INR 30 lakh bracket -- an inclusion that comes as a surprise.

However, there was no place in the auction list for veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. His name was initially in the long list, but did not make the final shortlist.
