Leaders of the Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (AMTOB) on Thursday expressed their willingness to work closely with the government on future initiatives aligned with national development goals.
They expressed the desire during a courtesy call on Posts, Telecommunications and ICT and Science and Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam, MP, and Prime Minister's Adviser Rehan Asif Asad.
The AMTOB delegation was led by its President Yasir Azman, who is also Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone. Other members of the delegation included Ziad Shatara, Senior Vice President of AMTOB and Managing Director and CEO of Robi Axiata PLC; Johan Buse, Vice President of AMTOB and CEO of Banglalink; retired Lt Col Mohammad Zulfikar, Secretary General of AMTOB; along with other senior officials from the country's leading mobile operators.
During the meeting, AMTOB leaders briefed the minister and the Prime Minister's adviser on the current telecommunications landscape, highlighting the sector's significant contribution to the national economy, employment generation and digital connectivity.
