A 15-day solo exhibition of visual artist Rasel Chowdhury titled Ekti Sadamata Premer Golpo ended on Saturday at Daagi Art Garage at Hazaribagh in the capital.
The exhibition which began on 10 January depicts love from diverse perspectives through eleven experimental paintings and a video projection. His painting mostly used white acrylic colours on white canvas with minimal form consisted of lines and textures.
‘When the mind is not at peace, even love begins to taste bitter. For the past few years, we have been passing through a long transition where life has become increasingly complex and exhausting. People are constantly facing new problems,’ said Rasel Chowdhury, adding that there is hardly any space left to pause and enjoy the beauty of a flower, a bird, or a field of mustard blooms.
He also said that amid restlessness, people no longer look at the world with simple eyes. ‘The exhibition is also an apolitical conversation. This is my political position, my form of resistance. In such a reality, telling or even trying to feel a love story feels like a luxury,’ he added.
