Four more lawmakers are likely to join Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s cabinet today, with three expected to take oath as ministers and one as a state minister, according to BNP and government sources.

President-elect Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is scheduled to take oath as president at Bangabhaban at 7:30pm today. Shortly after, the new members of the cabinet are expected to be sworn in, sources said.

The Daily Star independently confirmed the development with two people familiar with the matter.

BNP sources said Abdul Moyeen Khan, Andaleeve Rahman Partho and Sa Ching Pru Jerry are set to take oath as ministers, while Shamim Kaiser Lincoln is likely to be sworn in as a state minister.

Sources said the president will administer the oath to the three ministers and the state minister.

The Cabinet Division has already contacted several of the prospective appointees and asked them to be present at Bangabhaban this evening, they added.

Abdul Moyeen Khan, a member of the BNP standing committee, is a lawmaker from Narsingdi-2.

Andaleeve Rahman Partho is chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party-BJP, which contested the election as a BNP ally. He is the MP from Bhola-1.

Sa Ching Pru Jerry, the MP from Bandarban, is convener of the BNP’s Bandarban district unit. He was elected from the constituency as a BNP candidate in the February election.

Shamim Kaiser Lincoln is the BNP lawmaker from Gaibandha-4.
