Bangladeshi musician and guitarist Jon Kabir is currently attending The NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show 2026 in Anaheim, California, marking a significant moment for Bangladesh’s representation at one of the world’s most influential music industry gatherings.
The event is being held from January 20 to 24, at the Anaheim Convention Center, bringing together over 75,000 industry professionals, more than 3,500 global brands, and participants from 125 countries. The annual January showcase is widely regarded as the most important trade event for musical instruments, audio technology, and music business networking.
Speaking to The Daily Star, Jon Kabir said, “For a musician, going to NAMM is a big deal. It’s one of those places you grow up hearing about, where the global music industry comes together under one roof. Being there feels surreal, and it’s something I’m genuinely excited about.”
The musician added that the event represents more than just new gear and performances. “It’s not only about instruments or technology; it’s about conversations, exposure, and understanding where the global music scene is heading. As a Bangladeshi musician, being part of that space matters.”
This year’s edition is particularly notable as it celebrates NAMM’s 125th anniversary and 50 years of hosting the show in Anaheim. Alongside a packed exhibition floor, it features extensive education sessions, industry summits, and nightly live performances across multiple stages, including the high-profile Yamaha Grand Plaza concerts.
The show is not open to the general public; attendance is limited to music industry professionals, artists, educators, and media, making participation a marker of professional recognition and industry engagement.
Beyond product showcases, NAMM functions as a key networking hub where artists interact directly with instrument makers, audio brands, and international collaborators. Major companies such as Yamaha, Fender, Gibson, Korg, Roland, and Martin Guitars are among the exhibitors unveiling their latest instruments and technology during the show.
