Leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) at Dhaka University (DU), Chittagong University (CU), Jahangirnagar University (JU), Rajshahi University (RU), and Jagannath University (JnU) have painted slogans and graffiti on their respective campus walls -- in protest against yesterday’s clash between Chhatra Dal and Islami Chhatra Shibir at Chattogram Government City College.
The clash in Chattogram erupted after Chhatra Dal activists reportedly erased the word “student” from a graffiti and replaced it with the word “gupto” (covert), triggering tension between the two groups that left several injured.
Chhatra Dal activists at DU said they undertook wall-writing and graffiti as a form of protest against yesterday's incident at Chattogram City College.

Mallik Wasi Tami, office secretary of Chhatra Dal's DU unit, said the initiative was not officially organised by the central leadership but was being carried out independently by activists across different educational institutions, including DU.
Nasir Uddin Shawon, senior joint secretary of the DU unit, said, “Today, JCD at DU carried out wall-writing programmes at Madhur Canteen, Arts Building, Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu), and several other locations.”
At JU, a group of Chhatra Dal activists, led by convening committee member Md Rubel, painetd graffiti and slogans at Bottola roads, Shaheed Salam Barkat Hall, in front of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and on walls near the TSC and transport area.
Rubel said Shibir had long engaged in covert politics and urged the organisation to conduct its activities openly under the current elected government.

Convener of Chhatra Dal's JU unit Jahir Mohammad Babor alleged that Chhatra Dal activists were attacked with local weapons at Chattogram City College over wall writings carrying the term “gupto”.
At RU, Chhatra Dal activists demanded that Jamaat-Shibir give up “covert politics”. The demand was raised through wall graffiti on the campus painted this afternoon.
Chhatra Dal's RU unit President Sultan Ahmed Rahi alleged that Jamaat-Shibir activists operate under concealed identities and attempt to destabilise academic environments. He also accused them of involvement in past incidents of campus violence.
At CU, leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal painted graffiti on key campus roads.
The graffiti, bearing the slogan “Gupto theke panah chai”, appeared on important roads of the campus, including Zero Point intersection, and Suhrawardy Hall intersection.
Chhatra Dal's CU unit General Secretary, Abdullah Al Noman, said, “We staged this protest against the incident at City College. We urge the administration to remain vigilant. If anyone tries to exploit general students’ emotions to create unrest, JCD will resist it firmly.”
At JnU, Chhatra Dal leaders and activists wrote protest slogans on different walls across the campus, including “Those who operate covertly belong in Pakistan.”
They also demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in the attack at Chattogram City College.

They said there is no place for any form of “gupto” or unethical politics in educational institutions.
Chhatra Dal's JnU unit Joint Convener Shahriar Hossain said the organisation respects all ideologies, but accused a political group of operating under hidden identities while maintaining different political affiliations.
