At least three people were killed and two more were injured when a CNG-run three-wheeler collided head-on with a diesel-engine-powered three-wheeler (Nosimon) at Bagha upazila in Rajshahi on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Shariful Islam, 55, CNG-run three-wheeler driver Bidhan Chandra Das, 45, and Rekena Begum, 90.
Serajul Haque, officer-in-charge of Bagha Police Station, told New Age that the incident took place in Chandipur area on the Bagha–Lalpur regional road at about 7:00am, leaving two dead and three injured on the spot.
One of the injured people later died on his way to the Bagha upazila health complex while the two injured were referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as they were in a critical condition, he said.
The police official added that police seized the two vehicles from the spot and were taking necessary legal steps.
