BNP will begin distributing nomination forms for women’s reserved seats in parliament from its central office in Dhaka's Nayapaltan at 11:00am tomorrow, said Shairul Kabir Khan of the party’s Media Cell.

Each form will cost Tk 2,000, he said, adding that aspiring candidates could collect and submit the forms on the same day.

Party sources said applications from interested aspirants will be received first, followed by scrutiny and verification before the party finalises its nominees.

Applicants will be assessed based on their political background, role within the organisation and public standing, the sources added.

The Election Commission announced that voting for the reserved seats for women in the 13th National Parliament will be held on May 12. Election schedule for the 50 seats will be declared on April 8.

EC said BNP and its alliance will have 36 seats, Jamaat and its partners 13, and six independent candidates, who forged an alliance, will get one seat.
