A mutual visa waiver agreement for diplomatic and official passports holders was signed on Thursday between Bangladesh and Mongolia.
The agreement was signed at home ministry at secretariat in Dhaka, said a press release.
Senior secretary of home ministry Nasimul Ghani signed on behalf of Bangladesh, and Mongolian non-resident ambassador Ganbolt Tambazao signed the agreement for Mongolia.
The agreement allows eligible passport holders to enter, exit, and transit through the other country without a visa for up to 30 days and will remain in force indefinitely unless terminated with 90 days’ notice.
Officials from both sides highlighted hopes to further deepen economic and diplomatic ties, with Mongolia expressing interest in extending visa waivers to the general public in future.
The agreement is part of Bangladesh’s broader effort to expand visa exemption arrangements, with 34 such deals now in place.
