ACI Motors, the sole distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Bangladesh, has launched the Yamaha FZS Hybrid, marking the first commercial introduction of hybrid technology in the domestic motorcycle market.
According to a press release, the motorcycle was unveiled at Le Méridien Dhaka yesterday.
Subrata Ranjan Das, managing director of ACI Motors, said the launch reflects the company’s focus on bringing advanced and environment-friendly mobility solutions to Bangladesh.
According to ACI Motors, the Yamaha FZS Hybrid combines a conventional internal combustion engine with battery-assisted technology, enabling improved mileage, quicker acceleration and lower carbon emissions compared to standard motorcycles.
This model has been developed to address rising fuel costs and increasing urban congestion. Launching the hybrid motorcycle also aims to grow environmental awareness among consumers.
The FZS Hybrid is equipped with a 4.2-inch TFT digital display, turn-by-turn navigation, gear indicator and full LED lighting system. It also features Yamaha’s Smart Start and Stop System, which automatically shuts off the engine during prolonged stops and restarts it when the throttle is applied, a feature aimed at improving fuel efficiency in city traffic.
Connectivity options include Yamaha Y-Connect Bluetooth technology. In terms of safety, the motorcycle comes with Anti-lock Braking System and Traction Control System.
Initially, the model will be available in two colours, Cyan Metallic Grey and Racing Blue, across authorised Yamaha showrooms nationwide. Sales will begin through a pre-booking system, ACI Motors said.
Hiroshi Setogawa, director of sales at Yamaha Motor India, joined the unveiling event virtually. Senior officials from both organisations were also present.
