Jatiya Sangsad opposition leader Shafiqur Rahman met prime minister Tarique Rahman at the latter’s office in the Jatiya Sangsad complex on Monday following the namaz-e-janaza of Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed’s wife, Dilara Hafiz.

The namaz-e-janaza was held at 12:00pm at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad, where both leaders stood together in respect.

After the ceremony, they walked towards the parliament building. At that time, Shafiqur Rahman expressed a desire to speak with the prime minister, who invited him to his office.

The meeting, confirmed by the prime minister’s deputy press secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon, lasted about 20 minutes.

After the discussion, the prime minister accompanied Shafiqur Rahman part of the way as he left the office, he added.
