The mortal remains of Nahida Sultana Brishti, one of the two Bangladeshi doctoral students at the University of South Florida who were murdered in the United States, have been brought home.
A flight of Emirates Airlines carrying the mortal remains of Birsti arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 9:10am on Saturday.
Family members, including her parents, were present at the airport.
Foreign secretary Asad Alam Siam, who was also present at the airport, told reporters that the government was working to ensure a fair investigation and proper justice in connection with the killing of the students.
Bangladesh authorities are maintaining continuous communication with relevant US officials regarding the incident, he added.
Earlier on May 4, the mortal remains of another student, Zamil Ahamed Limon, was brought home. Later, he was buried at his village in Jamalpur.
