Bodies of two young men were found on railway tracks in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj today.

Local residents spotted their bodies on the railway tracks and informed police, Kashiani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Mahfuzur Rahman said.

The two men are believed to have been killed after being run over by the Ruposhi Bangla Express sometime after 10pm on Tuesday; the matter was subsequently reported to Rajbari Railway Police Station, the OC told The Daily Star.

Railway police later reached the scene, completed the legal procedures and handed over the bodies to the families, the OC added.

Police identified the deceased as Md Mehedi Sheikh, 25, son of Babul Sheikh of Noapara village in Maheshpur union, and Hasib Gazi, 20, son of Shah Alam Gazi of Baokhola village in the same union.
