Rashidul Hasan, chief reporter (digital) at The Daily Star, was critically injured in a motorcycle accident near the FDC boat pier in the capital’s Hatirjheel area around 1:25pm on Sunday.

Witnesses said that, Rashidul’s motorcycle crashed into a concrete road divider, leaving him with severe head injuries.

Locals rescued him and took him to Samorita Hospital at Tejgaon for primary treatment.

The Daily Star chief reporter Partha Pratim Bhattacharjee said that ‘As his condition deteriorated due to serious head injury, he was later shifted to the Intensive Care Unit of Square Hospital, where he remains on life support in critical condition.’
