Bangladesh women’s cricket team continued their dominant march in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifying event with a thumping 90-run victory over Scotland on Friday at the Tribhuvan Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Already assured of qualification for the Women’s T20 World Cup before the match, Bangladesh delivered a commanding performance to register their sixth consecutive win in the tournament.

It was their third-biggest victory by runs in women’s T20 internationals, underlining their growing confidence and momentum.

Batting first, Bangladesh piled up an imposing 191 for 5 in 20 overs, one of their highest totals in women’s T20 cricket.

Captain Nigar Sultana led from the front with an unbeaten 56 off 35 balls, while Sobhna Mostari provided strong support with a brisk 47.

Openers Dilara Akter and Juwairiya Ferdous laid a solid foundation with a 67-run partnership before departing in the middle overs, setting the platform for a powerful finish.

In reply, Scotland struggled against Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack and were restricted to 101 for 9. Marie Sproule was the top scorer for Scotland with 27, but she found little support from the rest of the batting line-up.

Marufa Akter starred with the ball, claiming three wickets, while Sworna Akter picked up two.

This result marks Bangladesh’s sixth consecutive victory in the qualifying stages — with four wins in the group phase and two in the Super Sixes — showcasing impressive momentum and team confidence ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
