The Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has frozen all bank accounts of Faisal Karim Masud alias Daud Khan, a suspect in the attempted assassination of Inqilab Manch spokesperson and potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency Sharif Osman Hadi, along with those of his IT firm, Apple Soft IT Limited.

A senior NBR official confirmed the development on Sunday.

Sources said all personal bank accounts of Faisal Karim Masud, as well as accounts of companies owned by him, have been temporarily blocked as part of the ongoing investigation. The move aims to scrutinize financial transactions and trace possible sources of funding linked to the incident.

According to sources, Apple Soft IT Limited, owned by Masud, is a member organization of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies continue their investigation into the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, with officials examining the involvement of other suspects and potential financial links.

Hadi was shot by miscreants in the Box Culvert area of Bijoy Nagar in the capital on Friday afternoon. He was initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition before being transferred to Evercare Hospital. Doctors said his condition remains critical.
