Robi Axiata has expanded its electric bike programme across Bangladesh as the mobile network operator seeks to improve last-mile customer services while reducing the environmental impact of its field operations.
According to a press release, the electric "Robi Super Bikes" are now operating in 458 upazilas, extending the initiative to support field employees serving customers at the thana and union levels.
Replacing conventional petrol-powered motorcycles with electric bikes would also contribute to reducing emissions from its field transport.
The vehicles also incorporate a range of digital technologies for security and fleet management, including facial-recognition unlocking, geo-fencing and real-time GPS tracking, states the press release.
