Mercantile Bank PLC recently held the 22nd meeting of its Shariah Supervisory Committee (SSC) at the bank’s head office.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Nesar Uddin, Chairman of the Committee and a renowned Shariah scholar, according to a media release. 

Distinguished committee members, including noted Islamic thinker Dr. Muhammad Zakaria and Professor Dr. Mufti Muhammad Abu Sayeed Khan, also attended.

Bank’s Managing Director Mati Ul Hasan, Company Secretary Mohammad Rezaul Karim, and Head of Islamic Banking Division Mohammad Mijanur Rahman Sharker were present, along with senior officials from the Shariah Secretariat and the Islamic Banking Division.

During the meeting, the committee discussed key matters regarding the bank's Shariah compliance and made necessary decisions on relevant issues, the release adds.
