Dhaka Bank PLC celebrated its 31st founding anniversary on Sunday.
The bank organised a special programme at its head office in Dhaka to mark the occasion.
Abdul Hai Sarker, chairman of the bank, inaugurated the celebrations, according to a press release.
Speaking at the event, Abdul Hai thanked the bank’s customers, shareholders, regulators, employees and other stakeholders for their unwavering trust and support throughout its 31-year journey. He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to strengthening corporate governance, promoting sustainable banking practices, accelerating digital transformation and creating long-term value.
The bank’s founder, Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, who is currently undergoing medical treatment in Malaysia, joined the event virtually and addressed the gathering.
In his virtual address, Mirza Abbas reflected on the bank’s journey from its inception to becoming one of Bangladesh’s leading private commercial banks.
He congratulated the board, management and employees for their dedication and encouraged them to continue serving customers with integrity, professionalism and excellence.
In his welcome address, Osman Ershad Faiz, managing director and CEO of the bank, reflected on Dhaka Bank’s remarkable journey over the past three decades and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering excellence through innovation, technology, customer-centric services and sustainable growth under its brand promise, “Transforming Together”.
ATM Hayatuzzaman Khan, Reshadur Rahman, Altaf Hossain Sarker, Afroza Abbas, Amir Ullah, Abdullah Al Ahsan, Md Aman Ullah Sarker and Mirza Yaser Abbas, directors of the bank, attended the event.
Board members also addressed the gathering and praised the collective efforts of the bank’s employees in achieving sustained growth and strengthening customer confidence over the years.
Prof Bilkis Ara Begum, an independent director of the bank, along with senior management officials, branch managers and employees, was also present on the occasion.
