The Bangladesh Coast Guard in an operation seized 21,000 Yaba pills worth about Tk 1.5 crore at Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday.

Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Suzan in a press release said that the Coast Guard station Teknaf conducted the operation in the area adjacent to Hnila under Teknaf.

During the operation, a search was conducted in the area and the Yaba pills were seized, he added.

At this time, it was not possible to arrest anyone as the drug dealers fled after sensing the presence of the Coast Guard.

The process of taking further legal action on the seized Yaba is under process, added Suzan, mentioning that the Coast Guard would continue such operations in the future.
