Four passengers of a rickshaw-van were killed after it was run over by a dump truck in Mahadebpur upazila of Naogaon early today.

The accident occurred around 5:30am in Panchkathi–Shibpur area and the identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, said Mahadebpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahidul Islam confirmed the incident.

Two people were killed on the spot after three others were injured in the accident, the OC said adding the injured were taken to the upazila health complex, where the on-duty doctor declared two more dead.

He added that another injured person was advised to be shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
