The government has decided to form a special task force under the supervision of State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam to strengthen dengue prevention and response activities.
The decision was taken at the first meeting of the National Committee on the Prevention of Dengue and Other Mosquito-Borne Diseases at the Secretariat today.
The task force will monitor field-level activities, improve coordination among agencies, and implement emergency measures.
Chaired by LGRD Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the meeting also adopted several measures, including awareness campaigns, inspections of mosquito breeding sites, monitoring of fogging operations, and stronger cleanliness drives.
The minister stressed the need for coordinated efforts by government agencies and public participation to prevent dengue.
The government recently reconstituted the national committee to make dengue and mosquito-borne disease prevention efforts more coordinated and effective.
Officials expressed hope that the implementation of the committee's decisions would strengthen dengue control efforts across the country.
