Zass Technology Ltd., a leading telecommunications equipment supplier and engineering services provider, has entered into a partnership with RFL Electronics Ltd., a key subsidiary of the PRAN-RFL Group, to initiate the Completely Knocked Down assembly of advanced multimedia routers in Bangladesh, said a press release.
The agreement was formally signed at the PRAN Centre in Gulshan, Dhaka, marking a significant milestone in the country’s journey toward strengthening its digital infrastructure and industrial manufacturing capabilities.
The partnership agreement was executed by Towfique Malek, managing director of Zass Technology Ltd.; and Kazi Rashedul Islam, executive director of RFL Electronics Ltd., in the presence of senior representatives from both organisations.
Speaking on the occasion, Towfique Malek stated, ‘This partnership represents a significant step toward technological self-reliance in Bangladesh. By combining Zass Technology’s technical expertise with RFL’s industrial scale, we aim to reduce dependency on imports while making high-quality, locally assembled networking solutions accessible nationwide.’
Under the terms of the agreement, Zass Technology will provide technical designs, engineering expertise, and specialized components, while RFL Electronics will utilize its advanced manufacturing facilities to assemble the products domestically. This collaboration aligns with the Government of Bangladesh’s ‘Made in Bangladesh’ initiative, supporting the transition from import dependency to local high-tech production.
The CKD initiative is expected to deliver substantial economic benefits, including reduced procurement lead times for internet service providers and corporate clients, as well as the creation of skilled employment opportunities within the country’s growing electronics manufacturing sector.
The initial phase of the partnership will focus on the assembly of high-performance Wi-Fi routers designed to meet the increasing demand for reliable, high-speed connectivity across both urban and rural markets.
This collaboration reflects a shared vision of innovation, industrial growth, and digital transformation, reinforcing Bangladesh’s broader ambition to build a self-sustaining and globally competitive technology ecosystem.
