According to a press release, this year’s award will recognise the best cinematographer (director of photography) for work produced during 2024-25.

The award was introduced in 2023 to encourage excellence in broadcast journalism and cinematography in Bangladesh. The winner will receive a cash prize of Tk 100,000 and will be announced on September 24, marking the birth anniversary of renowned journalist and filmmaker Mishuk Munier.

Interested cinematographers must submit their entries by August 23. Each applicant may submit only one feature-length narrative film for consideration.

The jury will evaluate entries based on visual storytelling, technical excellence, aesthetic quality and humanistic values.

Applications must include the applicant’s name, address and contact details, along with a brief biography, résumé as a cinematographer (DOP), a synopsis of the film and its logline.

Films may be submitted online via email at [email protected]. Alternatively, entries may be sent on a USB drive to: House 107, Road 4, Block A, Banani, Dhaka 1213.
