Tangail police today detained an intern doctor based on allegations of a hidden camera installed in a washroom used by female doctors at Tangail Medical College Hospital.

On Monday afternoon, students of the medical college identified Raihan Kabir Emon at the hospital premises. Enraged over the incident, other interns confined the accused and the hospital director.

Receiving information, an executive magistrate and members of the police and army went to the hospital. At one point, when the situation turned tense, police took the accused intern doctor in custody. Later, he was taken to the local DB office for questioning.

Tangail Medical College Hospital Director Abdul Quddus confirmed that Emon was taken into custody.

Contacted, Ruhul Amin, officer-in-charge of Tangail Sadar Police Station, told The Daily Star that necessary legal action will be taken once a written complaint is filed.
