Chief election commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin, while addressing foreign journalists and election observers at a Dhaka hotel, affirmed that the Election Commission was fully prepared to hold the 13th Parliamentary Elections in a free, fair, and credible manner.

The election is going to be marked as the first national elections since the fall of the Awami League regime on August 5, 2024.


In the event, Nasir outlined a set of measures undertaken to ensure transparency, participation, and trust in the electoral process.

He informed the attendees that comprehensive arrangements are in place with support from law enforcement agencies to ensure security during the polling and counting of the ballots.

He added that presiding officers and polling staff would manage polling operations and counting at stations in presence of polling agents, accredited observers and journalists.

Election commissioners Abdur Rahmanel Masud, Tahmida Ahmad, Anwarul Islam Sarker and retired Brigadier General Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah, and EC senior secretary Akhtar Ahmed were present.
