Dhaka Capitals assistant coach Mahbub Ali Zaki has passed away after collapsing on the field during the team's pre-match practice session at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.
Zaki, 59, was overseeing the team's warm-up session before their match against the Rajshahi Warriors when he suddenly collapsed to the ground. He was given CPR immediately and was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
The team's CEO Atik Fahad later confirmed The Daily Star that Zaki is no more.
Zaki was part of the coaching panel of Bangladesh's Under-19 World Cup winning team in 2020.
He had worked as a coach for many age-level teams in Bangladesh, was a BCB coach and had worked for many franchises in the BPL.
