The country's merchandise exports in August 2026 bounced back with 13.14 per cent growth to fetch US$4.42 billion, according to Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data released Tuesday.
Bangladesh earned US$3.91 billion in August 2025.
Last July, merchandise shipments recorded a meagre 0.9 per cent negative growth
Out of the total US$4.42 billion, RMG fetched US$3.60 billion, marking 13.92 per cent growth, according to EPB data.
Within the RMG segment, knitwear exports grew by 14.88 per cent to US$2.03 billion, while woven garments rose by 12.70 per cent to US$1.57 billion.
The overall exports, however, recorded a 5.43 per cent growth fetching US$ 9.15 billion during the first two months of current fiscal year of 2026-27 over US$8.68 billion in the corresponding period of July-August of last fiscal.
