Kaarina Kaisar, daughter of former Bangladesh national football team captain Kaiser Hamid, was laid to rest this morning (May 18) at her maternal grandparents’ home in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj.
Her third janaza was held around 8:00am before she was buried in the courtyard of her maternal family residence in the Abdullahpur area under Bhoberchar union of Gazaria upazila.
Photo: StarEarlier in the morning, at approximately 7:00am, her body was brought to Gazaria from Dhaka by ambulance. Relatives, neighbours, and admirers gathered in large numbers to pay their final respects as grief spread across the area.
According to family sources, Kaarina had been suffering from severe liver complications, and her liver had nearly stopped functioning. As her condition worsened, she was airlifted to Christian Medical College Hospital in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India, last Monday night for advanced treatment.
Doctors had reportedly been preparing for a liver transplant procedure. However, her condition deteriorated after her blood pressure dropped critically. Despite intensive efforts by the medical team, she passed away.
