A section of leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party in Munshiganj, on Thursday, demanded cancellation of the nomination of the candidate for the Munshiganj-3 constituency, Md Kamruzzaman Ratan.
They made the demand at a protest rally at about 6:00pm in Munshiganj city, hours after the BNP announced its list of nominees for the forthcoming national elections, naming candidates for 36 additional constituencies.
The protesters demanded to nominate the member secretary of the Munshiganj District BNP Convening Committee, Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, in Ratan’s place.
Ahead of the upcoming National Parliament election, the BNP has already announced candidates for 237 seats.
On Thursday, the names of candidates for 36 more seats were announced.
