A 28-year-old housewife, Azirin Nesha, was hacked to death by unidentified assailants early Saturday in the Rowshan Market area under Kashimpur Police Station of Gazipur.

Azirin Nesha, the daughter of Lat Mia, lived with her husband, Babul Mia.

According to locals, Babul Mia left home around 6 am for a nearby tea stall, leaving Azirin alone. About 30 minutes later, he returned and found her dead inside the house.

The police recovered her body and sent it to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.

Babul Mia stated that Azirin was his third wife and that longstanding disputes had existed between his second and third wives and his son. He suggested that these family conflicts might have led to the murder.

Officer-in-Charge Molla Khalid Hossain of Kashimpur Police Station, under Gazipur Metropolitan Police, confirmed that Azirin was attacked with a sharp weapon, sustaining fatal head injuries.

No arrests have been made so far. A case is being filed, and further legal action is underway.
