Leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat‑e‑Islami and Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis today signed the condolence book for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in recent US-Israeli attacks on Iran.
Mia Golam Porwar, secretary general of Jamaat‑e‑Islami, and Mamunul Haque, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis ameer, signed the book on behalf of their respective parties at the Embassy of Iran in Dhaka, in the presence of Iranian envoy Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi.
They conveyed condolences to the government and people of Iran over the attack and the loss of lives.
Porwar described Khamenei as an influential Muslim religious leader in the history of the Ummah, lamenting that ongoing conflicts worldwide continue to claim innocent lives.
“No political objective or interest can ever justify the loss of innocent lives,” he said, urging restraint, wisdom and humanity from all parties.
Newly elected Dhaka-14 MP Mir Ahmad Bin Quasem Arman, special adviser on foreign affairs to Jamaat Ameer and Opposition Leader Shafiqur Rahman, was also present.
