The conference brought together the bank's Senior Management Team (SMT), Heads of Divisions, Unit Heads, Area Heads, Cluster Heads, Heads of Branches and Sub-Branches, Relationship Managers, and other key officials to review the bank's business performance for the first half of 2026 and formulate strategies for achieving its business goals for the remaining months of the year, according to a media release. 

The conference was graced by Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Midland Bank PLC., as the Chief Guest.

The business sessions were inaugurated and chaired by Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director & CEO of Midland Bank PLC.

In his inaugural address, he highlighted the Bank's achievements during the first half of the year and emphasized the importance of customer-centric service, sustainable business growth, regulatory compliance, recovery of non-performing loans, and maintaining high asset quality to achieve the Bank's strategic objectives.

During the conference, Didarul Islam, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), presented the bank's overall financial performance, while Sushanta Sekhar Deb, Head of Treasury & Market Risk, reviewed the Treasury business performance.

Area Heads presented detailed analyses of their respective business areas, focusing on profitability, deposit mix, recovery performance, and strategic plans for the next six months. Business plans and performance reviews of Agent Banking, Cards, and Bancassurance were also presented. In addition, the conference featured presentations by high-performing Branch Managers as well as strategic improvement plans from comparatively lower-performing branches, fostering constructive discussions on business growth and operational excellence.

During the afternoon session, Md. Javed Tarek Khan, Head of Institutional Banking Division (IBD), presented an overall review of the Institutional Banking Division's business performance for the first half of 2026.

Subsequently, the Institutional Banking Division, SME, Treasury, and other business units reviewed their half-yearly performance and outlined strategic initiatives to achieve their annual business targets.

Md. Nazmul Huda Sarkar, Deputy Managing Director & CTO, led an interactive discussion on key functional areas, including Operations, Cards, Bancassurance, Agent Banking, MIS, and RSSQG. Participants also discussed Credit Administration, Credit Risk Management, AML, Special Asset Management, Legal, Risk Management, and Information Security to strengthen operational efficiency and support the bank's strategic objectives.

In the evening session, Ahsan Khan Chowdhury delivered an inspiring motivational speech.

He encouraged the participants to remain committed to excellence, innovation, teamwork, and customer-focused banking while working together to achieve the Bank's strategic vision and sustainable growth.

A recognition ceremony was held during the conference, where outstanding performers from various business segments were honoured with crests, certificates, cash rewards, and promotions in recognition of their exceptional achievements and contributions to the Bank's success.

The conference concluded with the formulation of strategies for the remaining months of 2026.

To promote teamwork and strengthen camaraderie among employees, a Friendly Football Tournament was organized in the evening, where the Head Office Team emerged as the Champion, while the Sub-Branch Team became the Runner-up, the release adds.
