Bangladesh Nationalist Party chair Tarique Rahman on Monday warned voters of a fresh conspiracy aimed at obstructing the February 12 Jatiya Sangsad elections, urging the citizens to stay vigilant.

Speaking virtually at an election rally in Hatiya of Noakhali, he also outlined BNP plans to tackle local development, employment, and social welfare challenges.

Tarique said that those who had deprived the people of their voting rights over the past 15 years were now out of the country.

‘But another group is now attempting conspiracies to obstruct the election. Everyone must remain vigilant,’ he cautioned.

He appealed to the voters to actively take part in the polls on February12, calling on Muslims and people of all other faiths to go to the polling centres to cast their votes properly and monitor the counting of ballots.

Tarique stressed the importance of unity across religious lines, saying that the country belonged to all communities, including Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians, and that everyone must work together to build it.

He also outlined the BNP development agenda for the constituency, noting issues such as youth unemployment, economic hardships faced by households, and challenges confronting farmers.

Tarique reiterated his promises, including a family card scheme for households, a farmer’s card to support farmers, and the establishment of vocational training centres to equip educated youth with skills for local business or employment abroad.

He also pledged to provide small loans and expand job opportunities for those seeking work both domestically and in the Middle East.

Tarique highlighted health care as a key concern, promising to expand local hospitals to improve medical services for the people of all areas across the country.

He urged the voters to elect the BNP candidate, saying that only his victory could solve the constituency’s problems.
