The Bangladesh Football Federation approved its audited financial report for 2024 on Sunday, posting a surplus of Tk 5 crore after generating revenue of Tk 38 crore during the fiscal year.

The decision was taken at an emergency executive committee meeting presided over online by BFF president Tabith Awal from Thailand.

“Today’s meeting was held to approve the audited financial report for 2024. The Executive Committee endorsed the accounts and committed to placing them for final approval at the next congress, as required by FIFA,” Tabith told The Daily Star via WhatsApp after the meeting.

According to the BFF president, the federation’s expenditure in 2024 stood at approximately Tk 33 crore against total revenue of Tk 38 crore, resulting in a Tk 5 crore surplus.

Despite the positive balance for 2024, the federation continues to carry the burden of a Tk 19 crore deficit recorded in the audited accounts of 2023.

The meeting also formed a four-member committee to recover outstanding receivables from 2024 and earlier years. The federation is owed nearly Tk 6 crore by two companies linked to BFF vice-presidents Imrul Hasan and Fahad Karim.
