At least 36 more Bangladeshis were deported through a United States charted flight landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.

HSIA executive director SM Ragib Samad, also a Group Captain in the Bangladesh Air Force, told New Age that a US charted flight with 36 Bangladeshis deported at the airport at about 12:10pm on the day.

‘Their hands and legs were not tied. They came out of the flight like regular passengers,’ he added.

Earlier in 2025, the US authorities deported 257 Bangladesh nationals, many of whom were also reportedly being restrained.

With Donald Trump’s return to the White House for a second term, the US authorities have intensified its crackdown on irregular migration.

As a part of this renewed enforcement campaign, citizens of several countries, including Bangladesh, have been deported in multiple phases.
