Politicians and professionals on Thursday at a discussion in Dhaka said that political ideals of Serajul Alam Khan should be followed to overcome the ongoing political crisis of the country.
Serajul Alam Khan Foundation and Research Centre organised the discussion in the National Press Club to mark the 85th anniversary of birth of the late political thinker and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal founder Serajul Alam Khan which was observed on Tuesday.
Chairman of the organisation Abu Sayeed Khan presided over the programme.
Journalist Abu Sayeed Khan said that the crisis, which the country is facing after the July Uprising, could be overcome through implementing political ideals of Serajul Alam Khan.
The interim government had failed to form a discrimination free country according to the spirit of July Uprising, he alleged.
Bangladesh Jasod general secretary Nazmul Haque Prodhan said that the present political crisis could be resolved following ideals of Serajul Alam Khan who wanted to establish a democratic Bangladesh.
‘Our party is trying to establish a democratic country following the spirits of the liberator war,’ Nazmul added.
Politician Moazzem Hossain Khan Majlish said that, in the history of the country, liberation war in 1971 was a big achievement and which could not be avoided.
He called on the political parties to build next Bangladesh following the ideals of the liberation war.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD central leader Wajed Ali Sarker called on all the leaders of JSD factions to follow the ideals of SAK in their politics.
Barrister Farah Khan, member secretary of the foundation, two brothers of SAK — Fakhrul Alam Khan and Ferdaus Alam Khan, Abdul Majid Antar, Ismail Hossain and others spoke at the discussion.
