Actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have reportedly strengthened security arrangements at their Mumbai residence after Ranveer allegedly received an extortion threat via a WhatsApp voice note.
According to reports, the couple has deployed six armed security personnel outside their apartment complex. An official communication sent by the housing society to the Dadar Police Station revealed that the additional security was stationed without prior approval from the Society Managing Committee. The letter also noted that a uniformed police officer has been assigned to the couple.
The society committee reportedly raised concerns about the presence of armed guards within common areas such as the lobby, gymnasium and children’s spaces, citing safety and comfort issues for other residents. The letter requested clarification from the police regarding official permission for the heightened security.
Meanwhile, media reports claim that Ranveer alerted the Mumbai Police after receiving the threatening message, in which the sender allegedly demanded a large sum of money. Authorities have launched an investigation and are working to trace the origin of the voice note. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
On the professional front, Ranveer was recently seen in “Dhurandhar”, directed by Aditya Dhar, which emerged as one of the biggest box-office successes of 2025. The spy thriller, now streaming on Netflix, also starred Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan. Its sequel is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 19.
Deepika was last seen in “Singham Returns”. The couple welcomed their daughter, Dua, on September 8, 2024. Deepika is next set to appear in “King”, alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
