The country’s leading female shooter, Kamrun Nahar Koly, has been banned for one year by the Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation on disciplinary grounds.

Koly was temporarily suspended on January 1 for allegedly violating the code of conduct for the national team training camp.

The Federation’s ad hoc committee confirmed the decision on Monday, following an executive committee meeting on February 2.

According to a press release by BSSF, Koly violated seven clauses of the training camp during an incident at the federation office on January 25, 2026.

‘She [Koly] demonstrated ‘extremely indecent behaviour’ more than once in the presence of a police officer who visited the federation office for investigation purposes, by insulting, threatening, and aggressive behaviour towards the general secretary, executive committee members, officers, and staff,’ according to the media release.

It further claimed that Koly’s behaviour severely undermined the federation’s discipline, security, reputation, and overall disintegration of the law and orders.

However, Koly had earlier been vocal, along with several other shooters, about alleged sexual harassment against federation joint secretary GM Haider, who appeared before the NSC’s three-member probe committee on December 17.

Haider was removed with immediate effect on January 1.

Koly is the country’s only shooter to score 629 in 10-metre air rifle qualification at the 2022 ISSF World Championship in Egypt.
