The scheduled meeting between US Assistant Secretary of State Paul Kapur and leaders of the National Citizen Party (NCP) has been postponed.
The party’s office cell confirmed the matter on Wednesday night.
According to a notification, the meeting between NCP leaders and the US assistant secretary, which was scheduled to be held at 10am on Thursday, has been postponed. However, no reason for the decision was mentioned.
Earlier, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapur arrived in Dhaka via Delhi on Tuesday night on a two-day visit.
In a statement, the United States Embassy in Bangladesh said the visit aims to further strengthen the strategic relationship between the United States and Bangladesh.
During the visit, Kapur is expected to meet officials of the new government and business leaders. Discussions are likely to focus on expanding bilateral trade and investment, enhancing security cooperation, and advancing shared interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
