Mohammad Touqir Islam's acclaimed film "Delupi", which has earned praise for its sharp political satire, has now caught the attention of renowned Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.

Kashyap recently shared his thoughts on the film on Letterboxd, offering a glowing review that deeply moved the Bangladeshi director. Expressing his excitement on social media, Touqir shared a screenshot of Kashyap's review and wrote, "When Anurag Kashyap watches Delupi and shares his valuable thoughts! Can't express my feelings."

In his review, Kashyap wrote, "Power play at the smallest level in the village of Delupi, cut off from the rest of Bangladesh by floods following the regime change. Very humane and feels like our own backyard. Love it. A small village becomes a metaphor for the whole country. Rebuilding the dam is like rebuilding the country from scratch with no resources. Moved me in ways I can't describe.”

Directed by Mohammad Touqir Islam, "Delupi" has already garnered widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Set against the backdrop of a remote village ravaged by floods and political instability, the film explores the struggles of ordinary people navigating a fractured social and political landscape.

The story follows villagers who, through unity, love and resilience, stand against corruption, injustice and despair. By portraying a small community's fight for survival and dignity, the film offers a powerful reflection on broader national realities.
