Four members of a family, including a toddler, suffered burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla this morning.
Officer-in-Charge of Daudkandi police station, Abdul Hanif, confirmed the incident to The Daily Star.
The injured -- Monowara, 60, Zill Haque, 37, Umme Humayra, 30, and Hurram, 2 -- were rushed to the emergency department of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery around 6:00am .
Confirming the matter, Residential Surgeon Dr Shawon bin Rahman of the burn institute told media that the four, all from the same family, were brought in from Daudkandi, Cumilla around 6:00am.
According to him, Monowara suffered 2 percent burns, Zill Haque 54 percent, Umme Humayra 65 percent, and Hurram 6 percent burns.
Conditions of Zill Haque and Humayra are critical, he added.
