The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh has said that an unauthorised drone was seized from the VIP area of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka city.
The model of the drone is DJI Mavic 4 Pro; it was detected and seized while taking video at the VIP pole gate over the arrival of SAFF Championship players arrival at about 8:35pm on Saturday, said a press release of the CAAB issued on Sunday.
Referring to the preliminary investigation, the release said that the drone was flown without taking prior approval from the CAAB, which was against the existing rules and regulations.
It said that airport area was marked as the ‘red zone’ following the Drone Registration and Flying Guidelines, 2020 and it was banned to fly drones without taking special permission from the authorities concerned in such sensitive area.
CAAB said that they would take necessary legal actions in such activities for ensuring the airport’s overall security.
CAAB specially requested all not to fly drones in all sensitive areas, including airport following rules and regulations.
