Crowds began gathering in the National Parliament complex area from Saturday (December 20) morning to attend the janaza of Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. His body was placed at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban around 2pm. The presence of hundreds of thousands of people, cutting across party lines, has since become a subject of widespread discussion.
Actor Irfan Sajjad shared several photos from Hadi's janaza on his Facebook page, writing, "You have won, Hadi! You once said that even if you received only 500 votes in the parliamentary election, that would be enough. And today, millions have gathered for you in front of the Parliament."
Referring to the country's politicians, the actor added, "Can any politician, after years of doing politics, place a hand on their chest and say that when they die, people will come anywhere near this number to attend their janaza or remember them?"
Irfan Sajjad further wrote, "Let politics be for people's rights and for the country. I say it again—you have won, Hadi. You have shown the nation. May Allah grant you Jannatul Firdous."
