Ganosamhati Andolan on Tuesday called on the interim government to take immediate steps to curb corruptions in the society.

The party organised a press conference at its Hatirpool central office to mark international anti-corruption day, where chief coordinator Zonayed Saki said that the interim government had failed to check corruption that massively intensified during fascist rule of Awami League.

To curb corruption, reforms of laws and structural reforms of institutions were required, and the corrupt must be brought to trial, Zonayed Saki added.

He demanded strengthening of Bangladesh Bank and Anti-Corruption Commission to curb corruption.

Executive coordinator of the party Abul Hassan Rubel read out the written speech in the press conference, for curbing corruptions he demanded taking legal steps, turning ACC into a free and fair organisation, increasing power of the Bangladesh Bank, introducing compulsory e-tendering for buying and filing tenders, ensuring accountabilities of the government officials, ensuring press freedom, bringing the corrupt to trials.

Central party leaders including Bachchu Bhuiyan, Julhasnayeen Babu, Monirul Huda Babon attended the press conference.
