Netflix has unveiled the release date for "Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man", the long-awaited feature film that revives the Birmingham crime saga four years after the series finale. Written by creator Steven Knight and directed by Tom Harper, the film brings the Shelby family back into a world overshadowed by war and old enemies.
Cillian Murphy once believed he had laid Tommy Shelby to rest, but the actor says the character "wasn't finished" with him. "It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of 'Peaky Blinders'. This is one for the fans," Murphy told Netflix.
Set in Birmingham, 1940, the story unfolds as the Second World War tightens its hold over Europe. Tommy, living in self-imposed exile after the events of the series, is pulled back home when the turmoil of war intersects with unfinished business from his past. What follows, Knight says, is "an explosive chapter… full-on Peaky Blinders at war. No holds barred."
Murphy leads a cast that blends returning favourites with major new additions. The ensemble includes Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, Jay Lycurgo, Barry Keoghan and Stephen Graham. The expanded cast signals a darker, more ambitious wartime narrative.
"Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man" will release in select cinemas on 6 March 2026, followed by a global Netflix premiere on 20 March 2026.
