Paris St Germain held their nerve in a cagey Champions League final to retain the title by beating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties as Saturday’s nail-biting showdown ended 1-1 after extra time, cementing the French side's status among Europe's modern greats. Here are some of the key highlights from the contest:

**PSG are just the second team this century to win the UEFA Champions League in back-to-back seasons (2025 and 2026), following Real Madrid’s three in a row between 2016 and 2018. They are also the first French team ever to win the European Cup/Champions League in consecutive editions.

**PSG have now scored 45 goals in the Champions League this term, matching Barcelona (1999-2000) as the most in a single campaign in the competition’s history.

**Luis Enrique’s flawless record in Champions League finals remains intact. He’s now won all three finals he’s managed in the competition, having guided Barcelona to glory in 2015 before leading PSG to successive titles.

**Among managers to take charge of at least 50 Champions League matches, Enrique’s 63.2% win ratio stands way out on top.

Luis Enrique – 63.3% (50 wins/79 games)
Pep Guardiola – 61.3% (117/191)
Louis van Gaal – 60.0% (57/95)
Thomas Tuchel – 59.7% (40/67)
Zinedine Zidane – 58.5% (31/53)

**Arsenal’s Kai Havertz became just the third player to score for two different teams in a UEFA Champions League final (previously for Chelsea), after Cristiano Ronaldo (Man Utd, Real Madrid) and Mario Mandzukic (Juventus, Bayern Munich).

**Arsenal are the only team who have missed the goalframe with two penalties in a UEFA Champions League final penalty shootout (Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes).

**Arsenal’s possession average (24.7%) was the lowest by a team in a UEFA Champions League final on record (since 2003-04), as well as their lowest in any match under Mikel Arteta where they had 11 men on the pitch throughout.

**PSG midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery became the youngest player to win two Champions League finals. The France international, who came off the bench for extra time in PSG's 4-3 penalty shootout triumph after a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at the Puskas Arena, lifted the trophy for the second straight season at the age of 20 years and two months, surpassing former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Johan Neeskens, who was 20 years and eight months old when he won his second European Cup final in the 1970s.
