At least six people were reportedly injured in a clash between two rival factions of the BNP in Savar's Ashulia on Wednesday evening, police said.
Witnesses said that the clash took place in the Mozarmil area near the British American Tobacco factory.
The clash erupted over the filling of a low-lying area with sand near the factory.
The two groups involved were led by Jahangir Mandal, former joint general secretary of Dhaka district Juba Dal, and Zahir, former assistant organising secretary of Dhamsona union BNP.
The injured were taken to a local hospital, but their identities could not be confirmed immediately.
People of the area said that during the incident, the office of Amzad Dewan, general secretary of Ward 4 of Dhamsona union Awami League, was vandalised.
Shahinoor Kabir, additional superintendent of police of Savar circle, said that action will be taken following an investigation.
